Halloween Makeup 2016

Halloween I usually stay in with my hubby and watch movies all night but this year we decided to dress up. This was the year I was able to play with some extreme makeup. My first attempt was half glam half skull. Personally this is my favorite look out of all them. Next I tried the classic deer look. Big lashes, bold brows, and metallic lids pulled this look together. For Halloween itself I dressed up as the typical Harley Quinn, the red and black version. I threw on a Joker smile contoured the corners and added black clown eyes. I kept forgetting I had such extreme makeup on so every time I looked in a mirror I would scare myself! If you have seen the show Gotham then you know who Penguin is. My husband dressed up as him and nailed the costume! I added eyeliner and a pale foundation to his ensemble and he was set for the night. Do you think he could be Penguin’s double? Let me know in the commments.

Fall Beauty Trends 2016

Summer is finally coming to an end. The leaves will be changing soon, football season begins, and we can breakout our scarves and sweaters! We change our clothing for the seasons so why not change your makeup as well?

In the summer months you probably enjoy a bronzed faced with a bold bright lip or liner, but in the fall dark smudgy eyes and berry lips seem a better fit.

Here are some of the updated trends for the season you can incorporate into your daily life:
Eyeliner. All the ways you can wear it include: smudgy, graphic, simple, bold, and smokey. Line around your eye with a creamy pencil ( I prefer Rimmel Soft Kohl in Jet Black) use a pencil brush and black shadow to blend it out.

Dark lipstick is always a staple for fall. Choosing a dark berry or wine color will still keep you on trend. If your the type to push the norm though try grabbing a black or black blue lippy. It’s a fashionable version on the gothic style. Definitely want to whiten your teeth beforehand.

Last big trend I’ve found is.. Drum roll please.. GLITTER! Yeah, there is a fun adult way to wear glitter to work. Your welcome.

You could do a smokey brown eye and instead of using a metallic highlight on the lid you could pop on some glitter. Personally I don’t like the mess glitter leaves when used loosely. I’ve found a very pigmented affordable option by glitter injections. They have pressed glitter in a ton of colors! Wether your feeling bold in red or mute in copper, they have you covered. Can’t wait to see you rock the fall trends!

6 ways to use coconut oil in your beauty routine

1. Take a hand full of pressed coconut oil warm it in your palms and use it as a moisturizing hair mask. Leave it in for an hour or all day. Rinse with shampoo.

2. Take a teaspoon and swish it around in your mouth for 10 minutes. This is called oil pulling. It will help detox your body and naturally whiten teeth without causing sensitivity.

3. Apply all over a dry makeup covered face, massage it in and use it as a cleansing balm. Follow with your normal cleanser.

4. Use it as a moisturizer, apply all over.

5. Shave with it and have glowing hair free legs.

6. Scoop a bit out and put it in a small travel tin BAM, you have Chapstick.

Color correcting 101

Color correcting is a huge trend right now in the beauty community. Everyone from NYX to YSL are making them in different formulas and price ranges. Color correcting is used before foundation but after your moisturizer/ primer to conceal any problem areas. Apply where needed then blend with a damp beauty sponge follow with foundation. Make sure you are using a light hand with color corrector other wise you may not be able to cover the color with foundation.

Sassy classy

As always Miss Colleen was a beautiful model. We did a sassy glam daytime look using Kiss false lashes and Temptu airbrush foundation. Airbrush foundation makes your skin look more flawless. It’s perfect for brides because it photographs beautifully. When using airbrush foundation you still get a full coverage finish without the feeling of having a ton of makeup caked on.

Jerseylicious

Colleen is a Jersey girl and when I asked her to be my model she told me she wanted bright colors and lots of highlight. I used Anastasia Beverly hills artist palette & Urban Decay Vice palette to achieve this eye look. For a brighter highlight I layered Josie Argan liquid illuminizer and Colourpop highlight.
